Opened in November of 2008, BiNA osteria/alimentari is located in Boston’s most up-and coming neighborhood, Downtown Crossing. BiNA’s cuisine combines classic Italian cooking techniques with a fresh, contemporary regard for flavor and presentation. “L’osteria” is derived from the Latin “hospes” meaning “guest,” which is exactly how co-proprietors and siblings, Azita Bina-Seibel and Babak Bina, want patrons to feel from the moment they step over the threshold. This sense of welcome extends into BiNA alimentari, the siblings European-style gourmet store offering specialty European goods as well as house-made breads, pastas, gelati, prepared foods and pastries, in addition to a superior selection of artisanal wines.
After dinner we will be given a tour of BiNA alimentari and will receive a 5% discount on purchases.

Michael Scelfo joined Temple Bar this past May, a decision cheered by the city’s culinary elite. A huge proponent of cooking from scratch, most everything in Temple Bar’s kitchen is housemade – from mayo to pickles, sausages and breads. Under Scelfo’s leadership, Temple Bar has become a leader in the city as far as buying local goes. Right now, about 95% of its product is sourced from within 20 minutes of the restaurant. Michael recently launched a weekly Chef’s Choice veggie prix-fixe, showcasing local produce from Verrill and MacArthur Farms, as well as Eva’s Garden. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill carrot and celery salad either. Some offerings include Buttermilk Blue Cheese “Stuffed & Torched” Black Mission Figs with Microgreen Salad & Cider Blue Vinaigrette and Creamless Creamed Corn with Farmer’s Vegetable Salad & Black Truffle Vinaigrette.
